The Company was started in September 1981, as the partnership between Ivan van Graan and Billy Sterrenberg operating as Whip Engineering Enterprises in Reed Street, Bellville were joined by Bill Stevens and formed Whip Fire Protection Services (Pty) Ltd.Shortly after the establishment of Whip Fire Protection Services (Pty) Ltd we relocated to Boompies Street in Parow East, November 1982.The Company rapidly grew to be one of the leaders in the Sprinkler Fire Protection Industry in the Western Cape and in the early days successfully completed six contracts at the Rossing Uranium Mine in Namibia. The next major contract was the Telkom Building in Durban Road, Bellville (3 500 sprinklers) followed by Metropolitan Life Head Office at Parc Du Cap, Bellville (2 000 sprinklers). One of our biggest contracts was the Sanlam Head Office Project where the first phase was won on tender and four subsequent phases were negotiated. Total 15 sets of control valves.
