Solidarity Helping Hand was founded in 1949 as an answer to the Afrikaner poverty crisis of the time. Helping Hand has more than 30 000 supporters making a monthly contribution by debit order. We do not receive state aid and depend on the contributions of ordinary people to fund our projects. Our vision is to find solutions to address Afrikaner poverty. We do this by relieving, preventing and breaking our people's poverty through various projects. Nearly 80% of our time and resources are spent on poverty reduction, while the other 20% are divided between poverty alleviation and the breaking down of the poverty line.
