Glamosa Glass was established in 1958 in a small factory in Elandsfontein near Germiston, Gauteng. In 1970 a new factory was built in the town of Estcourt Kwazulu Natal from where the company operates at present.Innitially Glamosa (Short for Glass Mosaic) produced vitreous glass mosaics in a wide range of colours. Today glass mosaic is no longer produced but the infrastructure and ability to produce coloured glass remains enabling the production of coloured glass cullet on request.In 1980 Glamosa Glass started manufacturing a new range of lamp shade glass products, including many blown, pressed and spun glass ware products. Glamosa specialises in production of opaline (also known as milk, white or opaque) and flint (clear) glass lamp shade and light fixture glass items.
